Starting out, whenever I went in front of a camera to make videos or take photos to post on social media, I used to feel terrified, uncomfortable, and scared of being judged. I was so unconfident and had so much self-doubt that I just wanted to stay in a corner where no one would notice me. I didn’t mind taking photos for myself, but I didn’t want to do it for others to see. Eventually, I realized that this was due to my low self-image, which had developed from being judged in the past by people I barely knew. Being restricted and teased by my own family over various things made me feel even more shy and further hurt my self-image.
But everything changed when I realized that what others think and perceive of me shouldn’t really matter. There are people who will love you and people who won’t, and you can never be loved by everyone. It’s just not possible, as everyone has different opinions and not everyone has good taste.
I overcame this fear by first giving myself the self-love I needed and recognizing my own value. I know self-love can be hard for many people who think others are better than them, but in reality, you need to give yourself self-love to build self-confidence. Over time, that’s what I did. I started talking to more extroverted people, and I began to see things differently. I also read a lot of self-growth and positive mindset books, which helped me move out of my extreme introverted phase. Eventually, I came to love being in front of a camera and became a social media influencer and content creator. This has become a
passion of mine, and my goal is to one day turn it into a full-time career.
My journey toward self-love hasn’t just helped me; it has also inspired many people around me to love and believe in themselves as much as I believe in myself.
I know some of you may want to overcome self-doubt and build confidence to put yourselves out there. Here are a few things I recommend to help you overcome these challenges: First, surround yourself with people who love you for who you are so you can feel free to be yourself. Second, nurture self-love to build self-confidence. And third, read self-development books to reinforce this mindset. While there are many other strategies, these are my top three recommendations, as they can help you step out more confidently.
Now, I’m at a point where I love being in front of the camera. I am a content creator and influencer on multiple social media platforms, and I’ve made many friends through this journey. It has allowed me to connect with new people in a fun, relatable way. With my confidence in front of the camera and my educational background in Marketing, I have also started applying for roles in Acting, Advertising, and Magazine companies. My goal is to make this a full-time passion that I pursue wholeheartedly—not just for money. Life has been so exciting and fulfilling ever since I stepped in front of a camera!
